About

I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years experience working across NHS and voluntary sector services. In private practice I work with both adults and young people, and in my NHS role I work in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team in South London.

My Experience and Interests

Through experience and my extensive clinical training, I have gained the skills to assess and work therapeutically with a range of difficulties including:

  • Anxiety and phobias
  • Low mood
  • OCD
  • Adjusting to/living with a health condition
  • Overcoming difficult or traumatic life experiences
  • Low self-esteem
  • Emotionally-based school avoidance
  • Behaviours that challenge
  • Difficulties associated with neurodevelopmental conditions, such as Autism and ADHD

I have a particular interest in working with trauma-informed approaches, and supporting individuals live alongside chronic health conditions, or difficult life experiences.

How I Like to Work

I understand that it can be daunting to take the step of reaching out for help, and to talk about difficult things going on with someone new. It’s really important to me to spend time with my clients to build a trusting relationship where it feels safe enough to talk. The foundations of my clinical practice are built on warmth, compassion, curiosity and a non-judgemental and non-blaming approach.

I like to draw upon clients’ interests and strengths within the work to make it creative and engaging.

The Therapy Approaches I Use

As a Clinical Psychologist, I am trained in a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Approaches that I frequently use are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (including parent-led CBT for younger children), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), along with narrative and systemic therapies.

My Credentials and Registration

I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Canterbury Christ Church University. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council UK (HCPC). I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Children and Young People’s Psychological Wellbeing Practice from King’s College London. I am fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy (Parts 1-3).
