About
I am a clinical psychologist with over eight years’ experience working in the NHS across a variety of settings. I support people across the lifespan who are experiencing psychological distress and who are understandably affected by life events.
My Experience and Interests
I have supported people with a wide range of difficulties, including:
- Anxiety
- Low mood
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Complex PTSD
- Panic attacks
- Low self-esteem
- Hoarding
I also work with people experiencing psychological distress related to life events, relationship difficulties or challenges managing emotions and interpersonal relationships.
How I Like to Work
It’s my belief that the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of effective therapy. My aim is to offer a warm, authentic and collaborative space where you feel heard and brave enough to explore your difficulties. I work in a person-centred way, drawing on your existing strengths and supporting you in identifying your values and how to live a life that feels meaningful to you.
Together, we pace the work so that it feels safe and manageable, balancing reflection with practical steps forward.
The Therapy Approaches I Use
I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches to ensure therapy is tailored to each individual’s needs. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and have extensive experience with relational models such as Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).
I also integrate ideas and techniques from Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
My Credentials and Registration
I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Manchester, and my EMDR training with EMDR Academy. I’m registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council, UK (HCPC).
